The New Tennis Courts

The Wimberley ISD tennis courts were built thanks in large part to the hard work of Laura Trcka.
She spent several years in the 1990s working to secure funding from organizations such as Coca-cola, LCRA, Wide-Lite, PEC, Wimberley Lions Club, Wimberley Civic Club, Myers Construction and the Wimberley Community Tennis Association. These organizations, as well as many people in the community, shared the common goal of providing tennis courts for Wimberley. Wimberley ISD built these tennis courts in 1999 through the combined efforts of everyone.
Bob Kerrigan: Our 1st President and creator of the WCTA along with securing New lights for the courts.
In 2010 one of our tournament fundraisers was named in honor of Jay McDonald, a big supporter of the tennis programs, who passed away in 2009.
